I think in the most cities it is very easy to visit the mainstream tourist attractions by yourself. If you want to see special places outside of the city, things usually get much more complicated. I love activities in nature, especially in the mountains located south of Vienna (Hohe Wand, Rax, Schneeberg). This region has a beautiful landscape, mountain huts with traditional Austrian food and wild animals.
