I'm taking an extended absence from work to do some travel, and meet people. Richmond is a great foodie spot and has its own museum district and a lively downtown area, and cheap compared to most cities. It's in arm's reach of Washington, DC and I make the trip frequently, usually by train. My 21-year-old son and I live in a house with a couple of extra bedrooms if you need a place to crash.
