We have beautiful hilly forest areas near our little town, rocks to climb and ruins of former castles. Compared to rest of the country, there are still quiet and less visited places to find out in the nature. The eastern slopes of our hilly forest are mainly vineyards, monoculture, but depending on the season, still nice to see. The French border is only 25 km away from here, the Alsace region has German -French History, beautiful hiking opportunities again and a capital worth visiting, Strasbourg (50 minutes drive from here).
