Having a fee more free days than expected in Perth, I chose to use that time to rent a car and explore the regions’ many points of interest starting with Perth’s surroundings.

Most of the trip will focus on points along the coast. I love beaches, the sights of broken rocks and the various sea-side historical sites within short distance of the main roads. There seems to me to be plenty to choose from, and mostly follow breadcrumbs and stopping where and when it feels right.

I have at least one specific stop I would like to make. Contrary to the Leave No Trace principles I very much adhere to, I want to pass by a desert before leaving WA. I want to bring back a tiny bit of soil (I figured sand would fit best) to bring back for my friend who didn’t manage to get his visa on time to join me on this trip.

Having another curious traveller along for the tide, perhaps share the driving and/or the expense, would be a big plus to a strange land.
