I'm a 24yo writer from Singapore travelling in search of hikes, culture, people, and anything new.
I've walked, hiked, cycled and worked a lot across various countries and continents.
I'm a published short story writer (UK & SG), the owner of an independent literary journal, a creative storyteller, brand specialist and copywriter. But I'm also a global hitchhiker, Britcom addict, international dog-sitter, avid reader, amateur political observer, culture junkie, and language enthusiast.
I speak English (first language), 中文 (Mandarin), Cantonese & Hokkien. Learning Malay & Spanish (exp. 2018). A tiny bit of other languages from countries I've visited all over as well.
I live with the locals as much as possible and have made countless friends, learned to appreciate different cultures, and embraced new perspectives. I really enjoy getting to know my hosts on a personal level, participating in daily life alongside them, and try to be part of the family wherever I go. Most of the friendships I've built while travelling are a result of this.
I've done pretty much everything along my journey; gardening, agriculture, landscaping, painting, carpentry, poultry care, dog sitting and walking, pet sitting, house sitting, hospitality, driving, bartending, construction, housekeeping, household maintenance, waitering, branding and marketing.
Dogs love me because I bring them on hikes with me!
I've managed a 12-bedroom guesthouse in Japan.
I've taught English to primary school kids; including American kids.
I've worked on website design, social media content and management, photography, and branding for small businesses along my travels.
I've been a bartender, waiter, and customer service representative in various countries.
I've almost died in a foreign country, thrice, but came back from those experiences with valuable lessons.
At present, I'm living in a truck with two other travellers, driving across the whole of Canada. We'll arrive in Newfoundland and Labrador in September 2018.
