I love to travel, and, for me, it is more enjoyable when I am with a traveling partner. It is comforting knowing that if anything goes wrong, there is someone there.
I am Caucasian, heterosexual male, and I do not want to scare you, of 78 years. My undyed hair is still brown, and I am very active. If we can Zoom or Skype, we can meet, and you can determine if I am fit.
I’ve led an active life. I was born in Brooklyn and educated in NYC schools (Brooklyn Tech, NYU, and Brooklyn Law School). In high school and college, I was a fencer. I captained three teams and we were successful. I’ve worked since I was 13 – filed my first tax return at that age. After NYU, I was commissioned as an officer in the US Marine Corps. I served in Viet Nam in 1967-68 and left the Corps as a captain.
I write of these things because partnering with a stranger can be risky and you will want to know something of the person you are going to be with. To become an officer, my personal life had to be thoroughly examined by Naval Intelligence and the FBI. I have led a life trying to be a decent person and I believe that I have succeeded. My wife and children love me. They are the center of my life.
After the Marines, I worked days and went to law school at night. On the first try, I passed the Bars of N Y, N J, and Ct. All who wish to be a member of the New York Bar must be investigated by the State’s Ethics Committee. It had other governmental agencies' files on me and I was immediately welcomed me to the Bar.
When I was 57, I retired. Since then, I have done a lot of traveling (Europe and So America), gardening, and writing. If you wish, I can email you my first book. It’s about Diana and the English Laws of Sovereign Succession. I am just now starting my second book.
Traveling to Croatia and Slovenia, countries I have never been to is something that fills me with excitement. So does cruising. I intend to stay for at least a month in Europe, starting this September. And I will go for another extended trip in the spring. The pandemic delayed my dreams. I am fully vaccinated. We self-quarantined for 18 months. None of us got covid but cabin fever made us anxious to get on a plane. It is the end of August 2021, and we have a daughter in Belize and a son and family in Greece. We are travelers.
I am looking for a travel partner for multiple trips (two or more a year); a trustworthy person who enjoys the cultures of different societies. I am not looking to be, nor would I ever be, a ‘dirty old man’. The partner I seek is adventurous, curious, appreciative of different cultures, and wants to have fun. And if she loves the tango, and does not smoke, those are big pluses. I hope that we can meet. Paul
